The Herstory of the Ferry Godmother:
Once upon a magical day there was a beautiful sunset over the Newburgh bay. The sky was crisp and clear and there was a particular freshness hovering in
the air over the city. The residents were in awe about the new and exciting ferry boat service which would carry the many commuters across the Hudson River to the Beacon train station.
In the mystical darkness came a light; a light which contained a silhouette of a fine boat and a beautiful and sexy guardian overhead. As it drew closer you could see that it was none other than the
enchanting Ferry Godmother ensuring a safe, pleasurable and fun voyage across the bay to home. |
This story was close but not actually the way the Ferry Godmother got her name. The name, bestowed upon her by Ed McCarthy (photographer, reporter, and unofficial Newburgh historian extraordinaire)
was given to Aquanetta for her undying devotion, efforts and care to the ferry and its riders.

Thereafter a legacy was born, conjuring Ferry Godmother Productions, which are full service special event planners, specializing in the design and implementation of diverse events as
part of destination management. Ferry Godmother Productions' goal is to create a magical experience based on a need. Aquanetta Wright, the Ferry Godmother and Executive Producer states, "I want to create positive and happening
events which will enhance the city of Newburgh's image." Ferry Godmother Productions creates and gives life to new, unique and perfect events. The Ferry Godmother translates her ideas
and imaginative needs into a well-executed, unforgettable and fun experience. Ms. Wright also states, "Keeping people entertained is an art in itself and the possibilities are endless. And where is Ferry Land?
It is that magical place wherever the Ferry Godmother sprinkles her magic."
